I'm Having a Good Hair Day!

In case you're out of the loop, today is recognized as being Hairstyle Appreciation Day. If you're stuck in a rut with your hairstyle, then it may be time to jazz things up a bit. Be sure to tell others how nice their new do's look as well. Funny thing is, today is also National Honesty Day. Keep that in mind as you share your feelings for new hairstyles. "My, that looks..... different!"

May Newsletter

Recently, I have been doing some work out in the Youth House, painting some Scripture verses onto the walls. One of the verses that is going up soon will be 2 Corinthians 5:20: “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.” When I first considered this verse for the project, my thoughts shifted to the ambassadors from the United States that are in other countries. Hundreds of ambassadors spend their lives in a foreign land with the purpose of making sure that the U.S. maintains a good standing. They are the ones responsible to represent us as a country to nations all around the globe. In much the same way, we as Christians are living in a place that is not our home. We have the responsibility to represent the One who sent us here well. We are to take His message and speak on His behalf. And His message through us is clear – “Be reconciled to God.”

Don’t forget about the Youth Silent Auction right around the corner on Sunday, May 3. Tables will be set up in the Fellowship Hall throughout the morning with the items that have been donated for the fundraiser, which as you know, helps financially in getting us to summer camp. Also, it’s never too late to donate something for the auction. You can even bring something with you that morning if you want! Bidding will begin before Sunday School and close 15 minutes after the worship service concludes. Some businesses that we have been blessed to receive donations from include: Chick-fil-a, Curves Fitness, Stone Mountain Park, and Medieval Times Dinner Theater. Don’t miss out on this fun (and sometimes competitive) event!

There is so much to come in the way of activities during the summer break. For those incoming sixth graders in the church, we would love to have you come join us for any and all activities in the youth group once school gets out for the summer. I know you’ll have a great time!

Living for His glory,
Bro. Ryan
