March Newsletter

As Minister of Youth, I want you as the First Baptist church family to know how proud I am of the youth group that we have here right now. I continue to be impressed by the commitment that I see from them as they do whatever it takes to make it to church whenever they can. I am totally blown away by their absorption of the material that we study on Sundays and Wednesday nights. Yes, we look forward to growing in number, but I would not trade the spiritual growth that I see taking place in their lives for any number of new students. I do believe that I could not have handpicked out a group of students better than the ones that make up the youth group here. I am so proud of them!

March 8-14 is considered Youth Emphasis Week within Southern Baptist churches. March 8 is going to be our annual Youth Sunday. The youth group will be handling a large portion of the service that morning, and I have the privilege of bringing the sermon for Youth Sunday. It will be a great time where the middle-school and high-school students are given an opportunity to lead the church in worship. Please be an encouragement to our students by making it a point to be in the morning worship service on March 8.

The Wednesday night dinner of Youth Week will be a fundraising opportunity for those students who are registered to go to youth summer camp. The youth will be preparing a hotdog dinner on that Wednesday [March 11]; there’s no need to bring any food, as it will all be covered. The cost of the meal will be the same as any other Wednesday night: $4 adults, $3 children, $12 family max. This is a wonderful chance to support those youth who have committed a week out of their summer to go to camp and hear from the Lord.

Join with me in praying for the future of our church and also the future of our youth ministry. We are trying to reach out to students in an effort to get them involved here, and we are praying that God will send them in when it aligns with His timing and will.

In Christ,

Bro. Ryan
